    Cusser,
    All those were reasonably close.

    Thanks for posting that info.

    1 weighed 373 grams
    1 weighed 327 grams.

Ironically, both non full cans were in the center of the group of 12 cans.

it may not be much for one shop or one person, Not much...but over thousands of cans of freon it adds up.

    Wow. Just wow.

I doubt that this could be a statistical anomaly. I just happened to get THE ONLY case in the world like that.....

Turns out that I have 6 R134a cans here, all pure R134a, all old-style cans before the "self-sealing" type. Mine were all labeled 12 oz., and 3 different brands.
    Interdynamics 432.6 g
    Mid-Atlantic 429.3 g, 429.0 g, 426.8 g
    Supertech 440.2 g, 438.4 g

I've bought cases of freon before. I'm EPA certified.

That said, this was the first time I've checked every can. I could easily feel a difference as I lifted them.
I'm going to go ahead and say Dupont has made a TON of money on freon it never delivered.

I don't buy by the case, and my R134a cans might be assorted "brands"; but I do have a digital scale so I'll try to remember to weigh the 6 or so cans I might have around sometime this week.

Not just cost-savings, that's either poor manufacturing controls or fraud. Contact DuPont and/or the retailer.

I do have an electronic scale shed by my former employer, but have never bothered to check cans when purchasing.

DuPont silva R134A cans are not full in new cases

    Hi,
Today I received a case of 12 DuPont Silva R134A refrigerant in 12oz tap cans.

I always check everything I order. Exactly for this reason.

    Of the 12 cans,
    10 weighed 427 grams
    1 weighed 373 grams
    1 weighed 327 grams.

Ironically, both non full cans were in the center of the group of 12 cans.

it may not be much for one shop or one person, Not much...but over thousands of cans of freon it adds up.

I suggest you check your cases of freon as they arrive.

It's not really worth a fight because in my case it amounts to being shorted $2.14
But you should get what you pay for.

    YMMV
Working...
